Angry Birds Star Wars 2 introduces many exciting new characters. Here, we’ll show you what they look like and how their powers work!
Angry Birds Star Wars 2 has finally arrived on iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone devices. In the second installment of the series, you’ll find a ton of new characters, each with their own special powers.
Here is our cheat sheet showing you all the new birds, pigs and droids in Angry Birds Star Wars 2. For the first time, you can play on both the light and the dark side of the Force. Of course, in the twisted reality of Angry Birds Star Wars 2, there will be the Avian and Swine side of the Force.
To activate the characters’ special powers, it’s not enough to just shoot it with a slingshot. You have to time it correctly to enable its unique power by tapping the screen. What happens when the timing is perfect? We describe below…
The Birds of the Force
Jar Jar Binks
After hitting Jar Jar Binks with a slingshot, use your finger to attach Jar Jar like a rope – using his tongue – to a part of the ceiling, launching him much further than with just the catapult.
Captain Panaka
Captain Panaka shoots with his laser gun; all it takes is a single tap of the screen. Most importantly, however, his gun shoots with three lasers flying side by side, giving you a much better chance of hitting your target.
Padme
Padme has the power to move objects using the Force. Click on the building you want to destroy and it’ll get knocked over. This is in contrast to the power of Princess Leia, who could draw blocks closer to her. This power was available in the first installment of Angry Birds Star Wars but not in this newest installment.
Anakin Episode II
Anakin Episode II, still on the Light side of the Force, uses, of course, the light saber. Who would be a Jedi without a light saber? No one.
Jedi Youngling
Young Jedi students can separate into three separate characters, letting them cover a larger area for attack.
Mace Windu
Master Mace Windu throws his light saber, which can even cut threw hard surfaces, hitting targets and then flying back into his hands.
Qui-Gon Jinn
Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi Master, has great command of his light saber. When he reaches the target, tapping the screen and wielding the light saber will destroy everything around you.
The Pigs of the Force
Jango Fett
Jango Fett fires a missile during flight; all you need to do is specify the destination by tapping the screen. Unfortunately, Jango himself typically changes trajectory and doesn’t usually have any more destructive power.
Darth Sidious
Darth Sidious can shoot his death rays even through thick walls. As seen in the picture above, he is able to reach a bird standing behind that stack of bricks.
Battle Droid
Battle Droid simply shoots laser beams.
Darth Maul
Darth Maul, just like in the movies, wields two light sabers which revolve around him as he approaches the target.
Count Dooku
Count Dooku, similar to Mace Windu, throws his lightsaber, which flys back to him, even through hard surfaces.
Droideka
Robot Droideka, after tapping on the screen, starts to spin and bounce off of objects, causing major damage.
Zam Wesell
Zam Wesell, exactly like Jar Jar Binks, takes advantage of the rope, attaching himself to the ceiling and flying further and higher to hit his target.
General Grievous
General Grievous weilds four light sabers on route to his target. He can cause as much damage as Luke or Annakin.
Anakin Episode III
Anakin Episode III has already crossed over to the Dark Side. His powers have gotten stronger and he can draw objects towards himself, then throw them anywhere on the map.
Biker Scout
To harness the power of Bike Scout, you need to shoot him as far as you can. Then, when you’re approaching the end of the map, click on the object closet to the slingshot and Biker Scout returns like a boomerang, destroying anything he finds in his path.
Stormtrooper
Stormtrooper is the most basic character in the Hog Empire. He is equipped with a simple laser gun. You aim, he shoots.
TIE Fighter Pilot
TIE Fighter Pilot shoots a laser, but with a dual beam, giving you a better chance at hitting your target.
Darth Vader
Darth Vader, just like Anakin, can draw things towards himself, which he can then throw.
Boba Fett
Boba Fett has better tools than his father Jango Fett and shoots two rockets. You need to aim roughly in the middle between the two characters that you want to destroy.
Angry Birds Star Wars 2 introduces many new characters, but, as you can see, most of their powers aren’t overly original. This doesn’t mean, however, that the game isn’t fun, especially for Star Wars fans!
